I believe that sharing from an embodied place carries a different potency and I trust that all I have explored within my own body will provide a safe container for your inner reconnection. So that you can be gently guided back to what is fundamental - to be held, to be at home in the body, to find ease of movement in the body and in life.

I offer here a glimpse of my ongoing, shape-shifting journey over the past two decades. Since the exploration in my teens began into yoga, dance, active meditations and later qigong, movement has been a means of giving expression where words cannot; a powerful way of connecting to grounding, boundaries and power and a profound gateway to resting within a space of quiet ease. These practices have helped me through the anxiety of being a sensitive person in a busy world, and the space I can now hold for myself and others have come in no small part from there.

Over the years, I’ve grown curious about movement of a subtler kind, through listening to what other people’s bodies have to say, with Tension and Trauma Release Exercise (TRE), Craniosacral Therapy and Jin Shin Jyutsu. I believe inner rhythm is essential to life - it is in our heartbeat, the wave of our breath, the energetics of our system. And if the body is listened to and tended to with openness, gentleness and safety, the body’s innate inclination to heal will restore us back to health, flow and well-being. The more we can enable movement into the areas of contraction within the body, the more freedom we can experience, the more we can restore our full capacity for life.

The Elemental Practice is a humble expression of all of this understanding and exploration, an invitation to you to come back to what is essential. It is an unfolding, living practice that looks vastly different today than it was when I first began.

I wonder what lies ahead in this journey of mine, and I hope to journey alongside you in yours.
