A few words about me. I’m a clairsentient, highly sensitive person who feels and thinks deeply. I continue to navigate how to be both firm with my boundaries and compassionate in my understanding of the drama and complexities of my family dynamics. I remain in wonderment at the beauty of this world, the depths of the body and the power of the human spirit. I love big trees, live music and the ocean.
While I have been in some ways much more fortunate than many, this life thus far has offered me many opportunities for deepening my relationship with myself and life. I have journeyed through and still am digesting, amongst others: birth trauma, sexual violence, family violence and estrangement, major career pivots, medical trauma, caregiver burnout, deep grief from partner death, body shaming and all that comes with being neurodivergent as a highly sensitive person.
Exploring the landscape of the body. Over the years, partly out of necessity and also out of general geekiness about the body, I’ve deep dived into psycho/somatic education, a gamut of esoteric practices, and have also spent time in a corporate role, all of which inform my open-minded yet grounded approach. Body-oriented practices and therapeutic care I’ve received over the past few decades have had the most impact in my own journey - it is from this embodied place that I offer what I do.
Moving towards self-connection. Through the explorations since my teens in yoga, dance and active meditation, movement has been a means of giving expression where words cannot; a powerful way of connecting to grounding, boundaries and power and a profound gateway to resting within a space of quiet ease. These movement practices have helped me through the anxiety of being a sensitive person in a busy world, and the deep desire I have to support others to do the same stem from there.
Trusting the body’s wisdom. Over the years, I’ve grown curious about movement of a subtler kind, listening to the inner rhythms through body-based therapies. These essential rhythms are in our heartbeat, the wave of our breath, the energetics of our system. I believe that if the body is listened to and tended to with openness, friendliness and safety, the body’s innate inclination to wellness will restore us back to health, flow and well-being. It is this way of nature that remains my continuous teacher - to flow and not force, and to trust that we are uniquely created to live fully, frankly and unabashedly.
Being together in a field of understanding. In the field we share together, everything I have received from my own experience - formally trained or the school of life - meets you with embodied understanding, empathy and welcome for your truth. Your words, feelings and movements have space here with me.
