listening presence somatic therapy
“The body remembers, and we must listen”
— Dr Albert Wong
Listening Presence Somatic Therapy sessions are curated with a blended approach for your unique needs. Each session will have a combination of talk therapy, body-oriented guidance and touch.
These draw from somatic therapeutic approaches ranging from:
Inner child healing, somatic parts work, EFT and various trauma-integration somatic modalities such as Neuroaffective Touch
Craniosacral therapy, Jin Shin Jyutsu
Somatic coaching and focusing for body-oriented inquiry
These sessions might be supportive if you would like:
relief from stress, anxiety and any difficulty relaxing
steadiness amidst significant life transition e.g. death of a loved one, career change, relationship breakdown
alleviation of chronic aches or recurring physical symptoms of eczema, IBS, migraines, teeth grinding, TMJ, fatigue
reconnection to your body and emotions
stronger boundaries and more authentic expression
peace about identifying as being sensitive and feeling like you are “too much” or not understood (take the HSP test here)
to live more in the present rather than the past, if you are aware that your early years of life were challenging e.g. birth trauma, unstable home environment, unavailable caregivers
more harmonious relationships with triggering situations or people
There is no one way a session unfolds though we always listen to your body to guide the session. Sometimes a session can be about being safely held with touch support on the massage table, resting and finding more ease in your nervous system. At times, it can be a seated reconnecting with your body or parts of yourself that desire to be seen. And at other times, it can be about past emotions or memories having an opportunity for safe expression, witnessing and integration, so they do not need to keep playing out in the present.
