There is no one approach to healing that suits everyone, all the time. I’ve found in my own healing journey that my body needs a different medicine or approach in each season of my life, and sometimes I circle back to where I began. So this growing list is intended as a resource for complementary care in your own journey. Regardless of modality, what I appreciate the most about each of the people below is the gentleness and care that they offer their clients - this presence alone can make such a difference.

  • <TCM> Five Harmonies Acupuncture. Dr Ng combines her expertise with gentleness and grace, and shares more of the depth that I believe this discipline can offer than most TCM doctors I’ve encountered here in Singapore.

  • <Naturopathy> Ben the Naturopath. Ben brings such sincerity and a richness of his own personal experience into his care for his clients, especially around challenges in skin, hormonal imbalance, joint pain and digestive issues.

  • <Functional medicine> Dr Loo Hui Voon. Dr Loo brings a compassionate and holistic approach to her patients’ care. She combines her existing depth of experience in the medical field with her studies in nutritional medicine.

  • <Ayurvedic bodywork> Sol House. Candice offers grounded, steady care through a range of bodywork treatments informed by the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda.

  • <Restorative yoga and personal training> Practise with Jen. Jen brings her extensive understanding of the body, along with a trauma-informed lens, into her sessions. Whether you are after a gentler or more dynamic session, you will be in good hands with Jen.

  • <Pilates and functional movement> Hello Body with Charis. Charis brings a wealth of experience about not just the body, but also the nervous system, to her 1:1 sessions or group classes, offering steady and open presence that can meet anyone where they might be at in their journey.

  • <Community clinic, sliding scale options and wellness sessions> Soma Haus. Kathy and her team run a values-driven space in the heart of Joo Chiat, offering a range of group classes and therapeutic interventions. One of the many things I appreciate about their work is the thoughtful availability of a community clinic and sliding scale pricing for people who might be in need of care whilst navigating a very tight budget.
